My blog project looks similar to Martha's (we shared ideas, tech tips, etc.)

http://readwritethink.blogspot.com/

I'm proud of the podcast I created, because one of my goals for this class was learning how to create a podcast, which I will be using extensively this upcoming school year.

Made a pbwiki to share tech ideas, wishlists, etc. The link is here:

I'm also working on a moviemaker movie, but it is ambitious, and I don't think I'll have it done for tomorrow.

I set up a blog on School Center, but it doesn't look good...

This is my staff website. I have put a lot of effort into the poetry pages and the layout. I can't wait to continue to use my learning to improve this website!

I have established approximately 50 bookmarks that I can share with my fellow 5th grade science teachers. Some of these bookmarks are from youtube others from the scientific community, teachers,...
I hope that these bookmarks will help fill some of the gaps that exist in our school's science curriculum. This is an attempt to be a stopgap measure while our school system reconfigures the science curriculum this year.

I have worked with Steve B to learn how to use Quick Scout, a software package to analyze athletes. It wasn't quite as easy as advertised, but after 2 days we figured out how to make it work. The PCs in the lab had poor graphics which detracted from the video. We are hoping that a better PC will produce better results. I set up my "I Google" page and a blog for my cross country team.

Driving home in the storm last night inspired me to create this first page: http://www.lunenburgonline.com/education/components/scrapbook/default.php?sectiondetailid=8443&sc_id=1182508057

I'm still working on a blog:

This technology inventory page needs to be updated, so I'll see how much I can edit this morning. My wireless keyboard is losing battery power, so I'm not sure how long I'll play!! http://www.lunenburgonline.com/education/components/scrapbook/default.php?sectiondetailid=8442&sc_id=1182508115

I am going to TRY to update the book movies regularly we will see. I also uploaded my Eric Carle movie to the P drive to share with my colleagues. Lastly, I was able to turn my Caterillar photostory into a movie on movie maker.. (It's not done yet) Check out my site

It has been an interesting week for me. I've learned alot about school center and some of tools that I didn't know about. I've created a mini slideshow about my 8th midi/computer unit using photostory and inserted it on my web site. I was disapointed in finding out it will only use photo's. I use another program that allows the insertion of graphic files.

I also was able to download utube video's and I was able to set up a new 6th beginner band page that directly links to "How to play..." videos.
I am looking forward to setting up a weekly THMS podcast now that I understand the RSS feed stuff, and redesigning my web page to be more user friendly.

I worked with Pete to use the In Motion Quick Scout software to analyis sports performance. I can see us using this software in the future to give feedback in track and field, as well as my weight training course and golf class.
I also spent some time working with school center to work on my website. It has been a very helpful and informative week.

So far I have used Moviemaker to create a short film with music that includes photos I took at Claude Monet's garden. I teach my students about Impressionism and Claude Monet, so I think they become engaged and enthusiastic when they can see a photo of me standing on the bride Monet painted so many times.

I also downloaded some podcasts in which museum curators describe and explain important paintings in their collections. I could scan pictures of the paintings and share the podcasts with my students to supplement my teaching.

I have been able to work on my website and add a photostory about rocks. I am developing a math page as well. I learned how to use tools within school center that I hadn't used before. Several people were extremely helpful with sharing their time and knowledge and it is appreciated. I want to be able to do more with the tools we were introduced to this week.

Well, I have learned so much from this class. I "thought" I was very tech savy until this class. I really did learn some new and exciting ways to differentiate my students learning.
I made a couple of movies and posted one of them on my website.
I also experimented with the "School Center" and created some blogs. I will further develop these blogs to incoperate things that I am teaching in my classroom.
I find iGoogle very interesting and plan to use it more often. I never realized it ever existing.
I am currently working on other projects. One of which wil be taking some of our books and creating photostories to go with the books. I have a busy summer ahead of me...Thanks for the guidance.

As a "digital immigrant" I took this course to definitely increase my understanding and use of current technology. This week has definitely opened my eyes to what is out there in the computer world. I've been able to experiment/play with various resources. My project, although simple for many but quite an accomplishment for me, is a 1st Day of School welcome for my students (MovieMaker) and can be used at our classroom Parent Open House in September.

Considering the fact that I still have dial up at home, I think I have come a long way this week. I put a lot of time into my website, including hiding my newsletters. I played with photo story and found some great new websites. I feel much more tech savy following this class!

Hi! I have been using technology for a few years and can usually figure things out - but this course has saved me a lot of time!!
I learned about igoogle, blogging, photostory, movie maker, podcasts, and using YouTube and TeacherTube in other ways. I spent a lot of time improving my SchoolCenter website to make it more a resource, especially for parents. The address is

Finally, I have my photostory aka virtual tour of the Opera Garnier on my webpage.

The idea would be to have students choose their own Parisian monument or museum and create a virtual tour narrated in French for the class.

Here is my virtual tour:

Sheila - your idea of the blog for summer readings is wonderful. I especially enjoyed the connection with the movie trailer. This is a very creative way to get kids talking about summer reading. My daughter will be starting high school next year and just mentioned she did not know which book to read from the list. A site like yours would be very helpful. Maybe we could coordinate a workshop for librarians to think about different ways to reach students. I think the town librarians’ would also benefit.

Another thought, a similar site for teachers for summer readings and discussions. They ‘s could get pdp’s for participating in the blog.

Nice job and keep up the good work. I will be back to check you blog over the summer.

I would like to correct a typo in my previous post (and also state that I have learned the value of one last reread before posting!)

I included a photo of me standing in the BRIDGE that Claude Monet painted so many times, not on the "bride". As far as I know, Monet didn't paint any brides and I am pretty sure I have never stood on any....

I would also like to add that I spent some time yesterday online researching sites that address fair use and copyright laws. I have concluded that this is an area that remains murky for many and it may take some time before clear and universally understood protocols are in place.
