  1. I liked the "21 Interesting Ways...." slide show. However, some of the things that he commented on doing in the Google Docs, I am not sure that I knew they were capable of doing & would know how to do them........It just goes to prove that I will never learn it all!!!!! ;D

  2. Linda,
The web is constantly changing, Google adds new features every week. This course will show you many of the basics and provide adddtional avenues for learning.
A quote that I pinned on my wall ...

Interesting. I enjoyed the concept of looking at a situation and coming up with a solution that works. We can all attest to the fact that our students are changing dramatically. If we are to make a difference there needs to be a shift in how things are done. This clip was an interesting view of such a shift and the need for it to involve everyone. I'm not sure I agree with the view of students multi-tasking effectively. Could it be that in this quick fire world they have shorter attention spans or the need to be "entertained"?

  5. The "21 Interesting Ways..." was very informative and I jotted down a few that would be appropriate to use in 5th grade. For example: Reading Response Journal, for collaborative homework assignments (group work), as a way to peer edit for struggling students and it would be neat to have them all watch a quick trailer or video and comment about it.

  6. Great video on "How Google Saved Our School". This was a snipet from the lengthier version I watched. I think using technology in school is a great way for kids to learn. With students who have difficulty learning it is a great way to keep their attention and help them. I just wonder how it truly affects their brains staring at a flat screen all day and being entertained.

  7. Finally got a chance to watch How Google Saved a School. That was very interesting. I still am not sure if I completely agree that students can multitask like that - that they're really not just goofing off more than working - but as long as they get the work in on time, I guess they are getting the work finished (hopefully well). I find it fascinating to watch students find more and more reasons to use Google Docs even when it's not expected of them. And I think we would all love to have Smart Boards in each classroom and access to computers like that!!!
