Groundhog Day
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow yesterday and predicted six more weeks of winter.
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa.—The world's most famous groundhog saw his shadow Monday morning, predicting that this already long winter will last for six more weeks. Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn in front of an estimated 13,000 witnesses, many dressed in black and gold to celebrate the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victory the night before.

The winter is nearing an end if the groundhog sees its shadow and if it retreats into its hole in its absence the cold season is likely to continue for 6 more weeks. ReplyDeleteI love the snow and how beautiful it is. The children get so excited. I ususally tell them to run to the window, look for thier favorite shaped snowflake and then get back to work. This will work to keep them all focused for another minute or two! ha ha
